Top New Cars for 2008

For those car lovers, here are what are you going to see in year 2008.

Lamborghini Reventon
Based on the Murcielago sports car, the Reventon is said to be inspired by the F-22 Raptor fighter jet. Recent reports indicate the car will cost nearly $1.6 million €1m — significantly above the Murciélago $300,000 MSRP.

The Reventon features a 6.5-litre V12 producing 650 horsepower and 487 pound feet of torque. Lamborghini will only build 20 Reventons.

Nissan GT-R
Powered by a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-6 to produce more than 450 bhp. MSRP ~$70,000. The on-sale date in the U.S. will be in the spring of 2008.

Audi R8

The R8 makes the most of its 4.2-liter aluminum-block V-8, delivering its 420 bhp through either a conventional gated 6-speed manual transmission or Audi’s 6-speed R tronic. Starting at $109,000, the R8 isn’t cheap.

Audi S5
Priced in the mid-$50,000 range, the S5 boasts 354 bhp from its throaty 4.2-liter V-8. A 5-speed Tiptronic won’t come until the middle of next year.

Ford Shelby GT500KR
A carbon-fiber hood will conceal a 540-bhp version of the supercharged 5.4-liter V-8.

Infinity G37 Coupe
Powering the rear-drive G is an all-new 330-bhp 3.7-liter aluminum-block V-6. The first engine to feature Infiniti’s Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL).

Lexus IS-F
All-new IS-F sports sedan will make more than 400 bhp and 350 lb.-ft. of torque from a 5.0-liter V-8. Launching the car from 0–60 mph in less than 4.9 seconds

BMW M3
Arriving in Spring 2008, armed with a Formula 1-inspired 414-bhp (420 bhp DIN) 4.0-liter V-8, the M3 is one of the fastest coupes around. M3 can sprint from 0–62 mph in 4.2 seconds. Expect the sticker price to start in the low $60,000s.

Maserati GranTurismo
Under the hood is the 4.2-liter V-8, tuned to produce 405 bhp at 7100 rpm. A new smooth-shifting semiautomatic transmission manufactured by ZF. Talk is money, the Maserati GranTurismo will be in the $110,000 neighborhood.
