Spiderman in Malaysia
French Alain Robert, 44, known as Spiderman climbs Petronas Twin Towers with his bare hands, in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, on March 20, 2007. Alain Robert completed the climb in only 20 minutes. Alain Robert also climbed the Sears Tower in Chicago, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority tower in UAE, Eiffel Tower in Paris and Empire State Building in New York City.
However the Frenchman’s second attempt yesterday ended the way his first did in 1997 — with the authorities stopping him on the 60th floor.
Wearing a yellow shirt emblazoned with the words “Petronas Twin Tower 1 - 20th March 1997, Ten Years, Petronas Twin Tower 2 - 20th March 2007″, the daredevil, who climbed without any gear, started his ascent at Tower 2 at 3.05pm.
But a team of firemen and policemen finally stopped him and ordered him to re-enter the building through an opening on the 60th floor. He did not resist. Robert was handcuffed and escorted back to earth before he was taken away in a police car.
It was not immediately known if he would be charged with anything.

I can’t decide if this guy is a madman that should be locked up or a modern day hero that should be applauded.
He’s certainly the bravest Frenchman I know either way.

Our authorities missed this golden opportunity to let him complete what he sought out to do - reach the top. And if he had done it, our country name would be flying high around the globe with the attending headlines in this 50th Anniversary of nationhood.
Apart from his achievements, Alain must be seen as the epitome of the human spirit for he has the True Power - in the imagination which dares to speculate upon that which is not yet. His imagination to scale these man made “mountains”, backed by great expectations, brought about his success reality which no one yet dare to follow. He has come to realize that his physical experience and environment is the materialization of his beliefs. There is no authority superior to the guidance of a person’s inner self. He has spoken: “We set ourselves limits, but we are all strong enough to aim higher, to achieve our goals. All we have to do is find such strength within ourselves. Know how to develop it. .. I do think that sometimes faith can move mountains…”

The occupants of the building became suspicious when a bad smell was reported on the 55th floor.
Seriously, how is this guy breaking any laws? It’s his life to risk if he wants to. I can’t even buy any trespassing arguments because he was on the OUTSIDE of the building. As long as we acknowledge that the building owners are not in any way liable for anything that goes wrong (read: splat), then I say it’s a free world so let the guy do it.

at least in the US, i’m sure the building owners would be liable for damages and negligence, etc. if this guy happened to fall on anyone down below. Should the family of the victim decide to sue, the building owners would have to show they took action to prevent it from happening, or something like that.
i would say he does pose a public danger up there, b/c he could hurt somebody down below. aside from that, i’m sure the building owners wouldn’t want the bad publicity if he fell.

hey guys,
thank,s for the comment!!!i very honored and i makes me realise that the people do love what i do but unfortunately the autorities and espacially petronas doesn,t share my spirit of freedom and the spirit of there own citizen!!!! i did my best during the last ten years to get the approval through some of the top politicians but it has completely failed….
still i,m glad as atleast i did climb 60 storeys multiply 2 in 10 years!!!!smile
i,m already having plenty of future plan around the globe and some friend are already working on trying to convince klcc and maybe one day!!! who knows
